CHAPLAIN ASSESSMENT *Please note: this is not a job application. This assessment will determine the level of training required to become a certified school chaplain. A complete chaplain assessment requires a Senior Minister to fill in the Pastoral Recommendation.

CERTIFICATION PREPARATION
| The Chaplains Assessment review will place school chaplain candidates in one of two levels. |
There are two general levels of compliance to qualify as a school chaplain.
Certified teachers, ordained or credentialed ministers, certifications, with student experience. In partnership with NSCA, Oral Roberts University will offer the eight-week Chaplains Course online. The asynchronous course will average 6 hours a week. This course is three credit hours.

The cost is $2,300 (non-refundable) which includes:

People with no experience, ordination, credentials, or education or youth experience with a minimum of a high school or high school equivalency.

- One school year of training (30 credit hours) – Completion of online asynchronous course

48 Hours of Training
Certified teachers, ordained or credentialed ministers, certifications, with student experience. In partnership with NSCA, Oklahoma Christian University will offer the eight-week Level Two course online. The asynchronous course will average 6 hours a week. This course is one college credit hour and three CEU credits. The cost for the 48-hour course is $349.

One School Year of Training
People with no ordination, chaplain credentials, or student experience with a minimum of a high school or high school equivalency. A full year, 30-hour college credit course is required to be certified as a school chaplain. The 30-hour college credit course may serve as the first year of either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. The course credit may also qualify candidates to complete an associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
Note: Some states might require a chaplain to commit to continuing their education by adding a second year of study to achieve an associate degree. Additional years of study are available from Oklahoma Christian University.

ACTIVE SHOOTER & NTAC CERTIFICATION
The cost is $890 which includes:
Students will also take 10 online hours of training for Active Shooter & NTAC Certification through Navigate 360.

CERTIFICATION FROM NSCA
- Ordination and Certification as school chaplain – (After the first year you’ll pay -$250 annual dues) to keep background checks current, access to training updates and courses, entry to chaplain support app and national job posting. Most importantly relationships with other school chaplains through wiki-powered open chat lines and counsel by members of the senior chaplain board.
- Listing on National School Chaplain Register
- Notice sent to school districts noted on application that a certified school chaplain is available
- Issued personalized Chaplain Badge
- Access to Chaplains’ resources
TOTAL COSTS:
These are the costs in order to become a certified chaplain.
Level 1 Training and Certification Fees $3,190.00
Level 2 Training and Certification Fees TBA (Depending on how many classes are needed).
ANNUAL DUES
Annual dues after the first year are $250 to keep background checks current, access to training updates and courses, entry to the chaplain support app, and national job posting.
